Seattle Washington Non Emergency Medical Transportation Insurance — Part Two Claim Scenario
In our previous post we find the supervisor of a roofing company, Barney Shive sending one of his workers Stevie Jones over to another worksite to pick up a nail gun. Stevie’s nail gun had failed and as he was on his way over to the other worksite, he gets a dear John letter from his girlfriend Kimmy via text message that she has moved out, and moved on from their relationship.
Stevie was shocked, why just the previous week he and Kimi had talked about having a baby in the future, and now she’s moving out and breaking up with him?
Stevie attempted to call her a number of times and she refused to answer, she finally sends him another text message asking him to stop calling her.
Stevie replies to her text message and Kimmy immediately texts back and states in all Caps “I’VE MET SOMONE ELSE” MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE”
Stevie angrily was in the process of returning Kimmy’s text message and takes his eye off the road for only a few moments and fails to notice the traffic had stopped in front of him.
As he glances forward, he sees the stopped traffic and presses his brakes as hard as he can, but it is too late as he makes impact with the minivan in front of him.
Stevie’s work truck crushes the minivan and because he was not wearing his seat belt, the airbag deployed but it was not enough to prevent Stevie from being hurled through the windshield.
Life squads were dispatched to the scene, Stevie, plus the three passengers in the minivan were all taken to the local hospital.
Now we will introduce our fictitious Washington State Non Emergency Medical Transportation Insurance Claim players.
Seattle Washington Non Emergency Medical Transportation Insurance — Introduction to Jam Transportations
Jam Transportations, Inc. is nonmedical transportation company offering transportation services to the infirm and disabled and they have been in business for seven years.
Jam Transportations Inc. has 20 vehicles and over 30 drivers, many are part time drivers, some are college students, others are retirees working for income to supplement their pensions.
Kimmy Sontag, a 4th year college student works part time for Jam Transportations, Inc while managing her school workload, and a new boyfriend named Ben Gentry, a college running back who has the potential to turn pro. Ben is also in his 4th year at the same college where they met and he plans on attending medical school after graduation if football doesn’t work out for him — Ben works part time as a medical assistant for a local hospital.
Kimmy has just moved out of her apartment she shared with Stevie Jones, her past beau. Stevie was a great guy but it was clear he was going nowhere fast, he was a roofer by trade with no further aspirations.
In contrast Kimmy was planning on law school after finishing her bachelor’s degree and she had begun a part-time relationship with Ben Gentry about six months ago.
Ben was a college football star and he was going places, he could go pro and if that didn’t work out, he wanted to become part of the medical profession as a physician.
Kimmy kept her relationship secret from both Stevie and Ben and when Ben asked Kimmy to move in with him, it was offer she could not refuse so she promptly moved out and broke up with Stevie.
We will consider more details in our next post.
